The point of this little demonstration was to show how easily we can sometimes be blinded to the blatantly obvious. 

All too often we refuse to believe what is right in front of our eyes and pay the penalty as a result. 

How did we do it?

We cheated.

We're not suggesting that bookmakers cheat us. We are suggesting that all too often we simply miss a glaringly obvious but vital piece of information and lose because of it.
